Jeanne Briand (b. 1990) is a French artist based in Paris. Working with mechanical components, glass, and leather, she brings the formal vocabulary of design into contact with the emotional charge of materials. Her objects occupy an ambiguous space between sculpture and artifact, suggesting functions without quite revealing them.
Alongside her independent practice, Briand develops commissioned environments and artist editions for houses including Balmain, Lemaire, Maison Margiela, Guerlain, and Cartier. From window scenographies to perfume bottles transformed into sculptures, these collaborations extend her interest in the relationship between material, object, and setting.
Her work has been presented internationally at venues and fairs including Miami New Art Dealers Alliance, Lemaire Seoul, Clark House Mumbai, South Dublin Arts Center, Art Cologne, Super Dakota Brussels, Lemaire Shangai, La Panacée Montpellier, Fondation Brownstone Paris; Mono Lisboa, and the California Institute of the Arts at Los Angeles.
Her awards and grants include the BFC New Wave (2024), ADAGP × Salon de Montrouge Production Grant (2017), the Palais des Beaux-Arts × New Technology Prize (2016), the Aurige × Amis des Beaux-Arts Prize (2015), and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris × California Institute of the Arts Scholarship (2014).
